“Interestingly, Puja has invested a lot of tenderness in these images. While the earlier works debated the male-female relationships within an urban context through deconstruction and juxtaposition of images, in the present body of works, Puja gives each image a separate identity by giving each nameless child a new name. Even in the small format paintings, Puja makes these faces iconic as if they were the gods and goddesses of their own times. “
